Presbyopic/Multifocal Lens Options
The Acrysof® IQ PanOptix Lens is a revolutionary lens technology, which is designed to allow post operative cataract patients to see more clearly at all distances with decreased dependance on bifocals or reading glasses.
The Acrysof® IQ PanOptix Lens is a breakthrough intraocular lens (IOL) that can provide patients a full range of vision -- near through distance -- and greatly reduce their reliance on reading glasses or bifocals. The Acrysof® IQ PanOptix Lens is an artificial lens used in cataract surgery for patients with and without presbyopia.
Presbyopia occurs when the natural lens inside the eye looses its to change shape and eventually affects everyone, including whose
who are nearsighted, farsighted or had perfect vision most of their life.
Until recently, most patients had their vision improved with a monofocal IOL. Although the quality of their distant vision was excellent, most patients needed reading glasses to see near objects. Acrysof® IQ PanOptix Lens provides a full range of vision, decreasing dependence on reading glasses or bifocals. For more information, click here to go to Acrysof® IQ PanOptix Lens website.
Alcon Vivity® IOL
The Alcon Vivity® IOL is a non-diffractive extended vision lens that provides you with a continuous range of vision so you can reduce your need for glasses when performing routine activities after your cataract surgery. This lens may be associated with less glare and halos of lights than other multifocal lenses. Both are great choices. Patient refractive goals and expectations are important to address preoperatively.
With the Alcon Vivity® IOL, you can expect a continuous range of vision for distant and intermediate tasks, while also providing you with functional near visual acuity. Functional near visual acuity reduces your need for glasses when performing up-close tasks such as using your smartphone or reading a menu in adequate light, compared to a basic monofocal intraocular lens.
