Dr. Katz, a graduate of University of Illinois Medical School, completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Illinois. His fellowship in glaucoma was performed at the University of Michigan. He is board certified in ophthalmology and has been in practice with Huron Ophthalmology, P.C. since 1994. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, the American Medical Association, the Michigan State Medical Society and the Michigan Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons. He has published numerous articles in journals including Ophthalmology, the American Journal of Ophthalmology, the Journal of Glaucoma, Clinical Ophthalmology, Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, and Clinical Medical Research and Opinion. He is involved in multiple clinical drug trials looking at better ways to treat glaucoma. He has lectured extensively at local, state, national and international meetings including the annual meetings of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the Brazilian Glaucoma Society, the European Glaucoma Society, the Mexican Glaucoma Society and the Colombian Glaucoma Society. He is a peer reviewer for the journals Clinical Ophthalmology and Advances in Therapy. He is a consultant to the State of Michigan's Bureau of Health Professions, BCBS of Michigan, and the FDA's division of Ophthalmic Devices. Dr. Katz specializes in cataract surgery and the treatment of glaucoma.
